NOK Welcomes Shareholders at AFN Reception

Natives of Kodiak (NOK) was delighted to welcome shareholders, family members, and friends to its annual AFN Shareholder Reception on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Marriott Anchorage Downtown.

Held in conjunction with the Alaska Federation of Natives Convention, this annual gathering is an opportunity to reconnect, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the connections that bring our Alaska Native community together.

NOK Board members and staff enjoyed visiting with shareholders, sharing updates, and hearing firsthand from those we serve. Quyanaa to everyone who joined us! We appreciate these opportunities to connect with our shareholders and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Your Voice. Your Vote. Your Future. Make It Count!

Natives of Kodiak encourages all shareholders and eligible voters to make their voices heard in the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026!

Voting is an important way to ensure our Alaska Native voices are heard on issues affecting our communities, families, and future generations. While NOK does not make political endorsements, we encourage everyone to do their homework, research the candidates and ballot measures, understand the issues, and make informed decisions at the polls.

Early voting is already underway in Alaska! Eligible voters can vote early at participating locations through November 2, with dates and hours varying by location. Election Day polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Visit elections.alaska.gov for early voting locations, polling places, and election information.

Planning to Enjoy Our Lands?

Don't Forget Your Land Use Permit!

Whether you're planning a hunting trip, fishing adventure, or time exploring the outdoors, remember to obtain the appropriate Land Use Permit before heading out!

Natives of Kodiak (NOK), Afognak Native Corporation, and Ouzinkie Native Corporation participate in a Joint Land Use Permit System to help protect and preserve their privately owned lands for future generations.

NOK shareholders, their spouses, and descendants are eligible for land use permits at no charge, although they are encouraged to complete an application. Additional permits or endorsements may be required for certain activities, including elk and bear hunting.

By respecting our lands and following established guidelines, we can help ensure these treasured places remain protected for generations to come!

Before your next outing, be sure to review the current land use rules, designated access areas, and permit requirements. Apply online and learn more at landspermit.afognak.com.
