A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • If you have an incoming kindergartener or incoming first grader (not currently in district K) please register with the district ASAP. It is important to do so to guarantee KRS placement for the 2023-2024 school year.

  • Please note the change in the district’s school calendar due to unused snow days. There will be NO SCHOOL for students from 5/25-5/31. School will resume on June 1st.

  • Please remember that no dogs are allowed on property whatsoever.

  • Another gentle reminder that getting out of the carline to help your child out of the vehicle is not permitted. Failure to comply may result in a loss of carline privileges. These small but significant reminders are important for the safety of our school community. Many thanks for your cooperation.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

The KRS Spring Adult Social was a HUGE success and a great time. We raised over $10,000 for Kings Road School! A big THANK YOU to all who attended and donated. We will contact all our winners this week to connect you with the teachers/experiences you may have won. We are overwhelmed and grateful for your continued support of the KRS PTO and our students. Without your support, we would not be able to fund things like Meet the Masters, the One School, One Book program, assemblies, teacher grants, in-class enrichment opportunities, the field day rainbow run coming this May and SO MUCH MORE.

Your support means the world to us, the children and the staff of Kings Road School. What a fun night!

An extra-special “Thank you” to Lisa Bohn, Alycia Nigo, Nisha Patel, Jess Doninger and Sam Lockery for stepping up to plan and fundraise for our KRS Adult Social. Did you know that the KRS PTO has not held a fundraiser since 2019? These 5 amazing women donated so much of their time to create a beautiful, fun and successful evening for all of us. We are in awe of you ladies!!

Keep Madison Green and Clean on April 29th

The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) is sponsoring "Madison Green & Clean" (formerly known as May Day), a town-wide beautification day with a new focus on Eco-Friendly Initiatives! Volunteers help clean, mulch and improve Madison's parks, business districts and other public areas.

We are looking for eager parent volunteers to help keep KRS Green and Clean! Members of the KRS community are invited to join the fun and help make a difference at KRS for ANY AMOUNT OF TIME between the hours of 9AM-12PM on SAT APRIL 29TH. Activities will involve weeding and distributing mulch throughout.

Bring your own garden gloves, small garden tools, shovels (please label), water and help KRS clean up for spring!! Adults must stay with children.

SAVE THE DATE - FIELD DAY Friday, May 19th

We are thrilled to share that Mr. A has worked with us to create a one-day Field Day for the entire school! A dedicated committee has met several times to finalize stations, schedules and snack breaks, culminating with our first ever KRS RAINBOW RUN. This is going to be so much fun but it will require a lot of help from our KRS parents and guardians!

Please be on the lookout for a sign-up genius coming soon! You might want to consider a day off from work for this one, it is going to be EPIC :)

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Calling all KRS Families!! Teacher Appreciation Week will soon be upon us and a new treasured tradition is the Faculty and Staff Thank You Video. If you would like to send a video (no longer than 30 seconds) to Katie Zurich at kkotaska@gmail.com we'll compile a video to be shared within the KRS community. The video should star your child/children sharing what they love about their teacher(s)! Thanks for thinking of the people who make learning possible and profound for our children!

As we prepare for Teacher Appreciation Week, we would appreciate your help with donating gift cards that will be distributed to staff at the end of the week, as well as items for the staff luncheon and items to help us “stock” the teachers room. Please see the sign up genius below on how you can help! Questions can be directed to Bridget Vasto, Alexis Maldonado and Carolyn Townsend.

INTERNATIONAL SPIRIT WEEK

Miss Bihuniak has fun things in store for KRS International Day on Tuesday. Get in the spirit all week!

KRS DIRECTORY

The KRS PTO has decided to collect information for a PTO directory for the 2023-2024 school year. The KRS PTO Directory is a helpful resource which includes student and family names and contact information. We want to get a head start and get as many current families as possible. In order to create our own directory, we need your HELP. We need your most up to date information to be included in the KRS PTO Directory.

Please respond via the Google Form link below if you wish to submit your family’s information. We can only include your information if you provide consent by filling out the form below. You only need to provide the information you would like to see in the directory. Please note that the directory is only available to families at KRS and we do not share your information.

Please note that you only need to fill out ONE form per family and you only need to fill out the form if you have a student returning to KRS next school year.

Volunteer Love

Thank you to Joy Suprano and her entire Meet the Masters team for teaching our children about the fascinating lives and famous works of master artists all school year. Thank you to the grade level captains for leading the charge and prepping all of the artwork for our show. The Art show was incredible and was a beautiful display of the children’s fantastic art work. For those of you who may have missed it, there is a video of the Art Show floating around- please reach out to us and we will get it to you if you’re interested!

Thank you to all our teachers, Mayor Conley, SRO Frank and all the Madison Police officers for reading to all the KRS families on Reading Night.

Thank you again to Lisa Bohn, Alycia Nigro and Nisha Patel for putting together a “groovy” night out for the KRS parents and caregivers!

Thank you to Jessica Doninger and Samantha Lockery for boogie-ing downtown, out of town, and everywhere they could think of to get us some fabulous silent auction and raffle items!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to set-up for the event and help break it down at the end of the night!

Thank you to all the parents for attending, donating, and bidding on prizes at our Disco Night. Seems like a great time was had by all, and there was LOTS of fabulous 70s attire!
