In January our new Sunday School teacher, Tamara Stitt, taught for the first time. Three parents shared with me how much their child enjoyed Sunday School—an encouraging sign of what God is doing through this ministry. Tamara, who also serves in the LAC preschool, brings wonderful energy and care to our children, and we are grateful for her leadership.
With a dedicated teacher in place, volunteers are no longer responsible for teaching; instead, we simply need one adult each week to assist Tamara, as our child safety policy requires two adults to be present. This is an easy, low-pressure way to serve and to build relationships with our children. In baptism, we promise to support their faith formation, and this is one meaningful way to live into that promise.
