BodyAwake® Yoga is an invitation for you to experience enhanced
embodiment and enlightenment by strengthening the partnership between your mind, body, and breath. This means that in BodyAwake® Yoga you will use your breath to mindfully attend to your body as you move through a sequence of asanas or poses.

Can this really work for me?
Yes, this really can work for you because — the human body is amazing and wants to be healthy and balanced. Our body gives us clues to work with all the time through bodily sensations. In BodyAwake® Yoga we pay attention to and work with these sensations on the mat. It changes our lives. Simple sensations such as heat, cold, tightness, soreness, achiness, heaviness, etc. are the language of the body. Through this language of sensation, the body is constantly communicating its state of harmony or disharmony with the mind. These sensations are associated with energetic circuits that have been turned off. The missing piece has been knowing how to interpret this language, respond to these sensations, and bring our circuits back online. The gift of BodyAwake® Yoga is showing us the how.
How is this accomplished?
With BodyAwake® Yoga, we train our mind to listen to our body and to honor our experience. Our areas of tightness represent a frontier showing us how deeply our body can release into any pose. The invitation is to use conscious breathing practices to work with our individual frontiers to soften and melt the restricted areas. By doing so, our bodies are more awakened and enlivened. The results are manifold — by increasing our limberness through releasing holding patterns, our consciousness finds release and relief. As a result, we can live more fully in our body, express more freely and bring more of our potential into our daily life experience.
BodyAwake® was created by Dr. Sue Morter. It is a Vinyasa style that draws from Bio-Energetic Medicine, Quantum Science and Eastern spiritual practices. The aim is fully living in the body as one’s true, essential self.
