Grant Recipient:

Auburn Symphony

Auburn Symphony is Placer County’s premier community orchestra. Supported by an amazing level of skilled musicians from the area, the orchestra has been inspiring the community and audiences since 1987.

In addition to bringing wonderful concerts to our community, the Auburn Symphony has been providing Youth Education and Community Outreach programs with Community Arts Grant funds. The "Symphony Goes to School (SGTS)" program returned this year after the pandemic years. They also continue the Young Artists Competition and Recital.

"Our mission supports our desire to provide quality music education in our community, to elementary school-aged children and aspiring young, talented musicians. Music is an essential educational element and Auburn Symphony is providing unique opportunities for students in Placer County." Anne Brown, Executive Director

Their education program has reached over 100,000 students in 20+ years.

"...Schools have been actively reaching out to reconnect now that we are able to meet in person again. Exposing children to live and exciting musical opportunities and providing teachers with an online Resource Guide to enhance the experience with teaching tools and materials is essential to opening up a lifelong love of music in young minds."

Arts Collaboration-

With the Placer Artists Tour, a "Call to Artists" was presented to local artists who are participants in the 30th annual tour in November 2023.
