It’s been another fantastic week here at Miramonte. We are blessed to live in an age when air conditioning is common at schools. I am sure that this latest warm spell, if experienced when the school opened in the 1950s, would have been hard to endure. It’s been hot out there!
Wellness Anti-Bullying Week
Throughout the year, our wonderful Wellness Center staff hosts a variety of weeklong programs based on a number of different wellness themes. Next week is Anti-bullying week. The staff has plans for a number of interesting and interactive activities each day during lunch. Please suggest to your student that they get involved. Combating bullying is a school wide responsibility and this week of focusing on it reminds all of us that we play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment at Miramonte.
Campo Game Tonight
High school sports provide us each year with specific matchups that create excitement and anticipation. Tonight’s football game is one of those moments. It’s time for the Campo game! This should be a very competitive game this year and we would love to fill the stands with Mats supporters. Please come out if you have the time and inclination.
End of Quarter One
Quarter One ends today. Grades will be in next week and should be available by the end of next week. This is another waypoint in the semester and is an important indication of how your student is progressing in their classes. These grades also provide another chance to talk with your student about each class and see if additional support is needed.
Drama Production Next Week
Our Drama Department will present Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express next week. The show runs from October 15-18, with all shows starting at 7p.m. High school theater is an entertaining and fun experience. Not only do you get to see kids you know, but you get the best possible seats because out theater is an intimate space. Please come out and support our Drama Department!
Pool Party November 6th
We are going to have a pool party to celebrate the rededication of the Bill Brown Aquatic Center. I was out there just before the flag football game the other night so I got the chance to experience the new lights. They are beyond spectacular. Personally, I have never seen pool lighting this good. We are so thankful to the parent community for making it possible to have the best the pool in California. At 5pm on November 6th we will have a reception and ribbon cutting to celebrate the revamped facility and to acknowledge and celebrate everyone who it possible for our athletes to have the best facility anywhere. Please stop by and help us celebrate everyone who made it possible.

Happy Friday Matadors!
What a wonderful evening of music at last night's Fall Concert! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our talented Miramonte musicians and vocalists. It was such a beautiful performance and a great reminder of the incredible talent we have at Miramonte.
Next up, Miramonte Theatre presents Murder on the Orient Express, October 15–18 at 7 p.m.! Gather your family and friends for a fun evening supporting our student actors and theatre program. Don't forget to get your tickets!
And finally, I hope you'll join us for our next Parents' Club meeting on Friday, October 16, from 9:00–10:15 a.m. in the Miramonte Library. Along with our regular PC updates, we'll welcome Principal Bill Schloss and AUHSD Associate Superintendent of Educational Services John Walker, who will share findings from the latest Challenge Success survey specific to Miramonte students. We'll hear what the data tells us about our students' experiences at school and discuss ways we, as parents and a school community, can better support their success and well-being. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from school and district leadership and gain valuable insight into our students' experiences. All parents and guardians are welcome, and I hope to see you there!
And don't forget, tonight is our home football game against Campo! Come out, cheer on our Mats, and enjoy a fun Friday night with our Miramonte community.
Stay up to date with all Parents' Club activities by visiting our website. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Christina Linezo

Many people think Measure W is a done deal in Orinda. It isn't.
The last high school parcel tax lost in all four of our cities.
In Orinda, it fell about 47 votes short. Measure W needs two-thirds to win and we have to reach more voters to get there.
WHAT CAN YOU DO NOW:
Sign up to make phone calls or canvass
We will only WIN if we reach voters NOW.

If you haven't donated yet this school year, please consider doing so today — we need support from every family to reach our goal.
If you donated through your employee portal, your gift may not have been received yet. Please reach out if you’d like to confirm your donation has been received to ensure you appear on the donor list.

Next Tuesday through Friday, wellness will be coming together for Anti-Bullying / No Hate Week, a week dedicated to promoting kindness, respect, inclusion, and a safe school community for every student.
Throughout the week, students will have opportunities to participate in activities and discussions that encourage them to stand up against bullying, reject hate and discrimination, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.
We believe that creating a welcoming school environment is a shared responsibility. Parents and families play an important role in helping students understand the importance of treating others with compassion and respect. We encourage you to talk with your students about the week and remind them that their words and actions matter.
Together, we can help create a school community where every student feels seen, valued, respected, and safe.
Thank you for partnering with us to make our school a place where kindness and inclusion are celebrated every day!

Fall Sports Are in Full Swing
There is a lot happening across Miramonte Athletics!
Mats are competing in football, cross country, flag football, men's and women's water polo, women's golf, women's tennis, women's volleyball and Unified soccer.
If your family usually sticks to one sport, try going to something different this fall. Stop by the pool, catch a volleyball match or check out flag football. It's a good way to support more of our student-athletes and see what is happening across Miramonte.
Boosters members can use their passes for admission to regular-season home athletic contests.
See what's happening this week
