Dear Cristo Rey Families,
It has been an exciting first week serving as your interim principal! We are celebrating our 11th-grade class for earning the highest average GPA in the first quarter. Congratulations to our juniors on their hard work and dedication! We want to build on that momentum and encourage every scholar to approach the second quarter with focus and determination. Our 10th graders also attended their retreat on Thursday, providing an opportunity for reflection, connection, and growth.
I am pleased to introduce Mrs. Sarah Evans, our new Dean of Academics, and Dr. Lex Brown, our new Dean of Student Success. Mrs. Evans will partner with teachers to strengthen instruction and help scholars engage in challenging, college-level thinking in every class, every day. Dr. Brown will continue to lead our college-going team in building a robust college-going culture, ensuring scholars receive personalized guidance and support as they explore colleges, navigate applications and financial aid, and prepare for the transition to college. They join Mr. Robinson, our Dean of Students, whose continued work strengthens relationships, accountability, and belonging. Together, this team broadens the support that helps scholars develop confidence, advocate for themselves, and persevere through challenges.
Our goal extends beyond college acceptance: we want every scholar to arrive prepared, thrive, and graduate from college. From ninth grade through college graduation, we are committed to pairing high expectations with the guidance and support students need to achieve their goals.
