| Message from Executive Director, Mary Tellefsen | In Case You Missed It: A Special Message + Lenten Annual Appeal | Yesterday, we shared a special message reflecting on a year filled with faith, growth, and community at Everest Academy. The video highlights many of the beautiful moments that have shaped our school year and introduces our Lenten Annual Appeal, “Orange You Committed.” | While the appeal officially begins on Ash Wednesday, the giving link is already available on our website for any families who feel called to participate early. | Thank you for your continued partnership, generosity, and trust. Your support helps ensure that Everest remains a place where children are known, challenged, loved, and formed in both mind and heart. | Be sure to watch the video and learn more about how you can support this year’s appeal. | | Message from Principal Hamilton | | Last Friday’s Spelling Bee contest was an exciting day of skill and perseverance, with some competitions lasting 18 and 22 rounds, first-graders competing with 4th-grade-level words, and second and third-graders competing with 5th-grade-level words! | I am so proud of how well our students competed with confidence, poise, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Elisabeth Greeson, who was our school champion and will go on to compete in the Cook County Spelling Bee next month. Thank you to Mrs. Fewkes for organizing the contest, and to the other two judges, Mrs. Behme and Mrs. Mikottis. | Friday night, I witnessed two thrilling basketball games. Congratulations to our 5th/6th boys’ team for remaining undefeated at home! Though our 7th-grade boys’ team lost, they fought hard and played with determination and heart. Join us for our last home game next Friday, February 20th. Come out to support our Knights! | This past week, our kindergarten, first- and second-grade students went as missionaries to serve our elderly neighbors at Franciscan Village. With their smiles and sweet voices, they brought joy to their special senior friends along with gift bags, valentines, songs, and a Towers of Love STEM activity. During their visit, students practiced the art of conversation, learning how to listen and engage thoughtfully with their elderly friends. Class apostolates such as this show us that even the youngest among us can serve and make a meaningful difference in our community. | Next week, we begin the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday on February 17. Our weekly all school Mass will be at 12:45pm. Ashes will be distributed. (Fr. Andrew is still collecting palms to burn and make ashes.) Because our school Mass will be on Wednesday, there will be no school Mass next Friday. Instead, we will pray the Stations of the Cross in the gym at 8:15am. All are welcome to join us. | I pray you and your families enjoy the long weekend! And we observe Presidents’ Day next Monday, let us not forget to take a moment to pray for our president and country. Let us thank God for the leadership of those who have guided our nation in the past and pray for wisdom and courage for our current leaders. May God bless America! | |
Rejoicing in gratitude for God's blessings,

| | Couples are invited to a beautiful day of prayer, reflection, and celebration centered on the gift of marriage. This special event includes a welcoming talk, Mass with the renewal of vows, and a festive lunch reception. Whether you are newly married or celebrating many years together, this is a meaningful opportunity to pause, give thanks, and renew your commitment in the presence of the Church and community. | | → For the Most Reverend Ronald Hicks, recently installed as the new Archbishop of New York, that he may be filled with the Holy Spirit to lead his flock with compassion and integrity | → On Presidents' Day, we honor past leaders who have shaped our nation, and we pray for wisdom and strength for those currently in office. May God grant them wisdom, integrity, and compassion as they work to uphold justice and unity in our country. | → For all Catholic schools, especially Everest, that we may be places where we learn to listen to God’s call and follow Him with joy | → In thanksgiving for our faculty and staff, may God give them the graces they need to help our students grow in God’s love | | Everest Academy is an independent PK-8th grade Catholic school committed to providing the highest quality education while cultivating the whole human person: intellectually, humanly, spiritually, and apostolically.
