Annual Giving 2027
A Season of Gratitude and Giving
We are grateful for the many parishioners who have already made their pledges and invite you to join in supporting Bruton and its continued ministry in service to God. Last Sunday, Melinda Morgan reflected on her family’s relationship to Bruton and the meaningful role it has played in her life. “For me, it has grown through serving here in different ways—from helping run the homeless shelter and preparing and delivering meals to participating in the Vestry, staying involved with the Finance Committee, and supporting other outreach efforts. Some of this work is visible; much of it happens quietly behind the scenes. But every bit of it helps make Bruton the special place it is. As you reflect during this stewardship season, I hope you will consider what Bruton means to you, the relationships you have built, and the relationships still waiting to be discovered. There are so many ways to become involved, to grow spiritually, and to help this parish thrive.”

How Creative & Fun!
From Peggy Peterson,
a neighbor of Beckie Davy's
"I left a pumpkin on your front porch today. It was from Art Burdick, who wanted to thank you for playing at his wedding eleven years ago. We were working at Liberty Lounge in Colonial Williamsburg this morning and Art came in with a lot of pumpkins he carved for people. He said that he knew they would get the pumpkins, but he didn’t know how he would get one of the pumpkins to its owner, Beckie Davy. I said that you were my neighbor and he couldn’t believe it, so that’s the story! Good things come to good people!"

Lament. Repent. Reconcile. Heal.
November 2, 10am
Members of The Episcopal Church in Southern Virginia and Williamsburg community members will gather on Monday at 10am at Bruton Parish Church for a service of worship, remembrance, and reinterment. Following worship, remains of three enslaved Africans will be interred at the Utopia site at Kingsmill on the James in Williamsburg. The service is open to all; however, because space is limited, seating will be reserved first for descendants of the enslaved with remaining seats in the church and the overflow space in Bruton’s Parish House open to the public. The burial at the Utopia site that follows is private, by invitation. All are invited to keep watch and pray during a public prayer vigil at Bruton Parish Church from 9pm Sunday – 9am Monday. If you would like to take part in the Vigil, please email the Rev. Jan Brown (jan@spiritworksfoundation.org).
