On the Thursday, Nov. 10th ONE WILPF Call, our featured speaker will be Phyllis Bennis of the Institute for Policy Studies.
Phyllis is a recognized expert on US Policy in the Middle East, and on the United Nations.
Ms Bennis' appearance is through our Middle East Issue Committee's invitation.
With tensions in the Middle East heating up even more, and threats of the carnage spilling over into Turkey and Iran, Phyllis Bennis will be focusing her remarks on Syria and particularly on what WILPF members can do to have impact on US foreign policy and to deliberately raise the alternative of peace, stressing its potential for saving dollars and lives in the short and long term.
This will be particularly important in the immediate aftermath of our election, helping us to plan strategy no matter who wins the Presidency.
Ms Bennis requests that in preparation for her presentation and Q&A, we read her recent article in The Nation magazine.
