Rear Admiral John Mauger, US Coast Guard (Retired) will recount his time leading the First Coast Guard District during the summer of 2023, when First Coast Guard District units responded to multiple crises including the loss of the TITAN submersible, the fire onboard the Grande Costa D'Avorio which tragically took the lives of two Newark Firefighters, and historic flooding across New England. RADM Mauger will reflect on Coast Guard capabilities, training, and culture, which enable the service to lead under extreme conditions.

Navy League Legislative Affairs representatives from Councils all over the country will gather on Capitol Hill on May 7 to meet with members of Congress and advocate for policies and funding that support American sea services. We will meet at Navy League Headquarters for training and dinner at 1600 on May 6.
NH Council President Kevin Galeaz also serves as the NE Region VP of Legislative Affairs. Would you like to join him at the Congressional Fly-In on May 6/7 to represent NH? He is also looking for Legislative Affairs representatives from the Mass Bay, Casco Bay, Newport County & Connecticut Councils to join the NE Legislative Affairs Fly-In Team. The NH Council strives to meet the Navy League's charter of educating the public on the benefits and issues facing the Sea Services, advocating to Congress on behalf of the Sea Services, and supporting the Sea Services crew members and their families when they are deployed.
The NH Council, with annual donations from our Community Affiliate Sponsors, provides MWR support to three ships and two shore commands:

- Submarine Squadron 2
