It Seemed Good Series
What happens when faithful Christians disagree about something that really matters? Acts 15 gives us a remarkable picture of the early church wrestling together with an extremely difficult question. They debate, listen to one another, pay attention to what God is doing, search the Scriptures, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and eventually move forward together. This series explores how we can pursue God’s will without demanding our own way… learning to disagree with grace, listen with humility, discern through Scripture, and trust the Holy Spirit to lead God’s people together.
Sunday, October 25th: No Small Dissension
The early church faced a disagreement that went right to the heart of the Gospel, “What must someone do to belong to the people of God?” Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed with those who insisted Gentile believers needed to follow the law of Moses. But rather than walking away from one another, they brought the disagreement into the community and worked through it together. Acts 15 reminds us that unity does not mean we will never disagree. Christian unity is demonstrated in how we love one another when we do.
| | Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and Sermon Notes that include Weekly Updates, Discussion Questions, and Response Suggestions are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday. | |

This week in Adventure: Kids, the Explorers and Investigators will be learning about Joseph’s life with God. They’ll explore Joseph's family trials, successes, hardships, and authority, and how God was with him through it all.
Meanwhile, the Adventurers and Trailblazers classrooms will learn about Abraham and Lot, focusing on Lot choosing the best land for himself. They’ll discuss how Lot’s love of wealth influenced his decision, and contrast it with Abraham’s humility and willingness to let Lot choose first. The lesson will highlight the danger of money and greed, and the importance of trusting God to provide.
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

BaseCamp Session 1
Wednesdays at 5:45pm
Join us around the table each Wednesday at 5:45 as we equip, encourage, support & challenge each other into the mission God calls us to in every aspect of our lives. We will participate in a family style meal paired with questions and activities to help us connect and engage in Jesus-centered discussion and fellowship. This year our focus will be centered on how Jesus did not invite people to merely believe in Him. He invited them to follow him. Interested in joining us? CLICK HERE.
Youth (6th grade and up) are welcome to come early and hang out with us in the Café anytime after 2:00 PM. We’ll check in together for dinner. If your teen comes early, they will need to stay with us until a parent comes to pick them up (if they are leaving before the end of Basecamp) or until Basecamp ends.
Dinner:
Dinner next Wednesday will be Tortellini Soup, Salad, Bread, and Pumpkin Bars for dessert! We will have allergen free versions for those of you who have communicated specific food allergies.

Celebration Sunday Service & Congregational Meeting
Sunday, November 1st, During & After Service
Join us as we celebrate what God is doing in the life of our church! We can't help but praise as we celebrate baptisms, share communion, welcome new covenant partners, join our voices together, and vote on those taking next steps into serving as Elders, Deacons, and Nominating Committee members!
While the voting portion is specifically for Covenant Partners, we believe it is a meaningful part of our worship as we witness and support those God is calling into leadership. Everyone has a part to play in this celebration -- and your presence matters!
And as always, what's a celebration without a sweet treat? Join us after service for cookies and continued celebrations!

Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Baskets, & Giving Tree
Our Outreach and Deacon teams are partnering together to help provide food for individuals and families in need during Thanksgiving & Christmas, and Christmas gifts for children in need. If you or someone in the church or community are in need of a food basket or Christmas gifts for kids, and are accepting of the help, please provide them with the link to this form to fill out.. Copies of this form will also be available at the Welcome Center. Please make sure this is filled out and returned to Adventure of Faith Church by November 8th.
If you would like to support this ministry, you can donate to the Thanksgiving & Christmas Basket Fund, by visiting our Giving Page and selecting that fund from the drop down menu. We also have the option this year to contribute to a Giving Tree fund so we can collaboratively get presents for tags that need filling. If you would like to fill a gift tag with gifts yourself, they will be available at the end of November. Thank you for helping us care for our community this holiday season!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| | God is Good Challenge: Scroll back up through this very full newsletter and be reminded of all the cool ways God is working in and through our church... then spend a moment in praise and prayer for everyone involved in all of these things. God is Good! | | |
This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
