Rheumatologist Joining Staff in January
We are pleased to announce that Baowei Tang, MD, FACR, RhMSUS will be joining HVMG Rheumatology in early January 2022 and will be practicing in the Center Township Medical Neighborhood. Dr. Tang is board certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and certified in Rheumatology Muscular Skeletal Ultrasound by the American College of Rheumatology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Tang completed his Rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2007, and his Internal Medicine residency at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in 2005. He received his medical degree from Southeastern University Medical School in Nanjing, China.

Dr. Tang’s practice interests include complicated autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis/myositis, and general rheumatologic conditions (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis, scleroderma, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis). He specializes in muscular skeletal ultrasound, which improves early diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases.

We will begin making appointments for patients to see Dr. Tang in 2022 on Monday, October 18, 2021. Please call the HVMG Rheumatology practice at 724-773-1928 to schedule an appointment.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when we raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer and show support for people affected by breast cancer. At Heritage Valley, our Women’s Health Center offers a variety of diagnostic services for adult female patients in one convenient location. Located just off the Center exit on I376, some of the services the Center provides include:

  • 3D Digital Screening & Diagnostic Mammography
  • 3D Breast Ultrasound
  • MRI-Guided Breast Biopsy
  • Stereotactic Biopsy
  • Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy 

The Women’s Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.

During this month when we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness, let’s all help to spread the word and encourage the women in our lives to schedule their annual mammograms. Please call 866-901-MAMO (6266) to make an appointment.

  • Flu shots are also available at our seven ConvenientCare locations. No appointment needed... just walk in!

  • Your Pfizer booster must be at least 6 months after your 2nd Pfizer vaccine.
  • Bring photo ID & your Vaccination Record Card.
  • Moderna and Johnson & Johnson boosters are not yet approved.
  • If you received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines originally, we will not administer a Pfizer booster.
  • An updated vaccine card will be provided.

  • You must have an order for a test. Contact either your Heritage Valley physician or one of our seven ConvenientCare locations to have an order called in.

  • Be sure that your cell phone number is listed in your CareLink profile. We will send a text confirmation of your appointment. We will also send the results of your COVID-19 test via text, typically within 24 – 48 hours.

  • Bring your insurance card and identification to your appointment. Without insurance, the cost of the test is $140, and a bill will be sent to you.

  • If you need a test on a Saturday or Sunday, please call one of our seven ConvenientCare locations, which can be found on heritagevalley.org, for an appointment. Please note that only ill or symptomatic patients will be seen on the weekends.
