National Ag Week runs March 21st through the 27th. We are celebrating this weekend at the Mississippi Farmers Market with our Spring Kick Off event. National Agriculture Week recognizes the unique and irreplaceable value that farmers, ranchers, foresters, farmworkers, and other agricultural stewards have contributed to our Nation. Agriculture is also the primary purpose of the Mississippi Farmers Market. Without the farmers and growers that come every weekend we would not have a market. America's agriculture provides a safe and abundant food supply; and facilitates opportunities for and economic development in our state. We welcome you to come say, "thank you" to our farmers and celebrate what they do this weekend. One of the fun things happening this weekend will be free giveaways. We will have popcorn, coloring books, lunch bags, and ant killer to give away. We will also be planting seeds with kids to give them an opportunity to grow a plant of their own. The Genuine MS®
Store will be open to give people an opportunity to shop local. Everything in the store is grown, raised, crafted, or made right here in our state. Agriculture is the number one industry in Mississippi. This weekend is the perfect opportunity to celebrate. We hope to see you at the Mississippi Farmers Market.
