Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from the Covenant Team! Please enjoy the stories of hope in action from Covenant.

The Open House is tonight, Thursday, 12/8/22, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. It's still possible to be a part of the giving. Head to covenantcs.net/give to help make Christmas happen for former foster youth and their children.

We look forward to this annual celebration of all God has done over the past year. Please stop by if you can and enjoy the night of fellowship, food, and fun!

The team at Covenant Coffee has been busy with events and Pink Lady services. Notably, Covenant has partnered with Sangera Subaru and Sangera Mercedes to mentor, train, and employ former foster youth in customer service and coffee.

The partnership employs three Covenant staff members while collecting canned goods and donations for needy families in Kern County. You can stop by the Sangera Service Centers to grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate or donate canned food or finances.

We are incredibly thankful for community partners like Sangera Subaru and Sanger Mercedes that help Covenant achieve its mission daily. Both of Sangera's great operations serve Covenant Coffee daily. This simple choice allows Covenant to employ foster youth in roasting, customer service, delivery, and the coffee business.

Covenant Coffee Mobile

Sangera Subaru has donated a delivery and marketing Subaru Impreza to Covenant Coffee for the past six years. The Coffee-mobile delivers freshly roasted coffee around the State and serves as a driver's education tool to assist youth in obtaining their license.

You are providing a terrific example of corporate philanthropy in our community.

The Bakersfield Condors hosted Covenant Community Services, foster youth, and their families at a recent home game. This generosity is an excellent example of how the community partners to give hope and love. For at least 5 of the former foster youth that attended, it was their first hockey game and their first time in an arena. Thanks, Condors Hockey, for making memories and creating new fans!

The picture above is Sarah's when she told me about her new car and buying a home! Wow! Sarah participates in the Covenant Community Services Transitional Housing Plus (THP-Plus) service for 18-25-year-old foster youth. THP-Plus is a partnership with the Kern County Department of Human Services, and Covenant provides case management, life skills training, mentoring, and many more services and supports.

The statistics tell us that 1 in 5 foster youth will exit the system of care to homelessness, so you can imagine how excited we are when our services and supports help a youth purchase a home! Congratulations Sarah! You exemplify what hard work, dedication, and perseverance can accomplish.
