Gold. As in, the shiny one. The top-of-the-podium, cue-the-anthem, someone-hand-me-a-tissue one. In a state that is absolutely packed with talented designers, the readers — that's you, that's real actual humans — picked me. I've been in this business long enough to know that awards don't decorate rooms and swatches don't win themselves, so this one means the world.
Here's what this really means: I didn't vote for myself a thousand times (I checked, you can't).
