Save the Date! The PRSSA Student Summit is Nov. 15


The 2024 GKC-PRSA Student Summit is approaching, and you're invited! 


Get ready for a day of networking and learning from knowledgeable PR and communications professionals.  


Each year, speakers come in willing and excited to share industry insights that help the next wave of PR students thrive and be informed.


The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 at Centriq in Kansas City, Missouri, and will be broken into informational and engaging sessions throughout the day. 


This year the theme of the Student Summit is Getting Started in Your Career.


You can expect: 

  • Sessions tailored to help students get started in their career with networking and resume and interviewing help. 
  • Meaningful conversations with surrounding PRSSA chapters and communications professionals. 
  • To learn something new. 

Lunch and drinks are also provided.

Join us for the 2024 PRISM Awards at the Vox Theater on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 5-8 p.m.


You can now purchase tickets to celebrate public relations achievements during the past year. Ticket prices to attend the 2024 PRISM Awards are $50 for GKC-PRSA members and $65 for nonmembers. You can also purchase a table of eight for $400. Buy your tickets today!

Jacqueline Clark, APR, Fellow PRSA Receives 2024 Platinum Award


The PRSA Midwest District recognized Jacqueline Clark, APR, Fellow PRSA with its Platinum Award. She will be presented with the award at the 2024 PRISM Awards event.


The Platinum Award celebrates achievements in furthering the practice of public relations, demonstrating outstanding leadership and contributions to the profession and PRSA.


“Jackie's spirited, kind approach to leadership and mentorship has positively impacted both stakeholders and colleagues, and her honesty and transparency have proven instrumental in PRSA's success at the chapter, district, and national levels," said Erin Van Zee, APR, PRSA Midwest District 2024 Chair.


In addition to the award, the district contributed $250 to a charitable organization. Donations were made on behalf of Clark to the GKC-PRSA Inez Y. Kaiser Memorial Scholarship Fund


Clark was nominated by the GKC-PRSA chapter. She currently serves as the West Regional Government Relations and Public Affairs leader for HolcimUS, where she directs the company’s public and government affairs as well as political action, community relations, and crisis management programs.
