Pastor Trudy's Message

The rules! We like things to be very clear and rules and laws sure seem to be. Until they aren't. When is it ok to break the rules...even laws? Jesus will have some wisdom for us about the rule of Sabbath this weekend!

Mighty God, You carved out Sabbath rest for Yourself and commanded that we rest as well. Help us figure out what is rest that gives life and what are life giving acts that restore us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

Was the world a better place when everything was closed on Sundays and there were no sports, music or other activities?

When we pass the budget each October, we promise to keep you up to date and trust that you will respond as you are able. We are currently behind on the budget for the year that ends August 31. Help GLC keep moving forward in our mission to live generously through your financial support... thank you for your continued generosity! Need inspiration? • Teach your faithful people to be attentive to the spiritual, physical, and societal weariness of our neighbors, that we proclaim your grace through tangible acts of mercy and justice.
  • Keep us mindful of the rhythms of nature as the days lengthen and the seasons shift toward summer. Grant relief to areas facing flooding or drought and bring favorable weather for the flourishing of crops, gardens, and orchards.
  • Provide wholeness and respite to all who are weary: those who struggle in any way and those who care for them. Strengthen first responders and health care workers in their times of exhaustion or frustration.
  • Stir our hearts toward abundant generosity among neighbors who experience hunger and food insecurity. Open both our hearts and our tables.

This weekend we will recognize our graduating high school seniors:

Jack Fels, Kaitlyn Fels, Jacob Hollis, Bailey Hollis, Kollin Mickelsen, Olivia Moellendorf, Jackson Niemann, Henry Pittenger, Catelyn Schleyer, Liv Schleyer, Michael Torrence

Would you rather...
Businesses not be open and sports/activities not take place on Sunday & it be a day of rest?
Things stay as they are because we need that extra day to get things done.

Each month this summer GLC women will have a chance to meet other women and get grounded in their faith. Trained leaders will cover the same topic on different days and times each month, with the hope that we can accomodate most schedules.

June's Topic: Getting Quiet

Most of us struggle to quiet our minds and bodies, even though we know it can be so beneficial to do so. Click HERE to register ASAP!

Tent Volunteers

We need volunteers between services on Sunday, June 16 to help put up the tent on the front lawn in preparation for Swedish Days, the pancake breakfast, and the Polka Service! 🎪

Narthex Volunteers

Making our bathrooms available to the public during Swedish Days is one way we can show generosity in our community. We need volunteers to sit in the narthex to greet people as they come in. Contact Michelle Lata if you're interested.
