OneDrive To Officially Stop Support For Windows 7/8

It was not all that long ago that we covered a bit of an unofficial end of support for Office and Adobe on Windows 7 computers. In another announcement aimed at getting those still on Windows 7 to switch, Microsoft announced on last Friday that OneDrive will stop working with Window 7 and 8 devices on March 1, 2021.

What Will Happen?

Once that March 1 date comes around, all syncing will stop on those older devices. There will not be a way to get this sync to work on those units again. Please note, that files could still be accessed through the online version of OneDrive, but they will not sync between the computer and the cloud portion. Unfortunately, the only solution to the sync issue will be to upgrade to a newer OS, like Windows 10. Fortunately, many people have made this transition already, but for those that haven't it would be highly suggested that they budget to replace these units sooner rather than later.
