An early Nor'easter Can't Dampen Our Excitement for this school year

We are finishing out the first month of the school year, hard to believe it will be October this week! At the PTSO we love seeing school back in session and all the growth and accomplishments of our students, teachers and staff. Please help us continue to support them by making an Annual Donation. We suggest $50 per family, but any amount is appreciated (and don't forget corporate matching!)

We are also always looking for new volunteers, especially if you are intersted in working with fundraising, outreach, the school committee, or the joint PTSO. Please contact us at chair@abrptso.org, secretary@abrptso.org if you are interested.

Your donations go directly to:

  • 10 college scholarships
  • Jr. High Events like Summer Fun, March Madness, 7th and 8th grade end of the year celebrations
  • High School programs such as World Cultures Week and the Community Service Program
  • Thousands of dollars in grant monies to each school for projects that directly impact students, such as supplies, Community Day, and field trips.
  • Teacher and Staff Appreciation events
  • and more!

PSAT Registration for Grade 11 - Registration Deadline is September 30

The PSAT/NMSQT is a great tool for students considering college, and ABRHS will offer it to 11th graders during our schoolwide Community Day on 10/13/26. The PSAT measures critical reading and math problem-solving skills and is the qualifying exam for National Merit scholarships.

Online exam registration will begin on Thursday, Sep 10, 2026, and end on Wed, Sep 30, 2026. In order to register, students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/222297. Please be sure to have a debit or credit card available before beginning registration. If you require financial assistance, you will be able to request a fee waiver as part of the registration process.

Here are the important dates for the registration process:

  • Thu, Sep 10, 2026 at 8:00 AM - Registration Begins
  • Wed, Sep 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM - Registration Ends

Please contact Shannon Dandridge, sdandridge@abschools.org, if you have questions.

Please note: Students in 11th grade who are not registered for the PSAT will join the 12th graders for career speakers and college visits on the morning of 10/13/26, unless they are excused from school by a parent/guardian through the main office.

Senior Yearbook Portrait Sessions at ABRHS

Mark Lawrence photographers are returning to the high school on October 14, 15, and 16, from 3:00 to 6:45 for Senior Portrait Sessions. Seniors who haven't had their senior portrait session done yet, will be receiving an email from Mark Lawrence Photographers with the booking information. If you have any questions, or would prefer to have your senior portraits taken at their studio, contact Mark Lawrence Photographers directly at 603-882-0116. Senior Portraits must be taken by Mark Lawrence by November 13 and your yearbook pose choice must be submitted by November 30. If you need assistance with the portrait fees please contact your counselor or assistant principal.

College Visit Calendar for ABRHS Seniors

If you would like to see the calendar for College Visits this fall, you can view it here. Please keep in mind that it is common for schools to create a visit date then move it to another day. If your Senior has identified that school as being of interest in their SCOIR account, they will be notified of the visit date and be invited to attend. In addition to indicating they would like to attend the visit in SCOIR, on the day of the visit, Seniors should sign an attendance sheet which will be distributed within the first ten minutes. Students will be excused from class to attend but still must complete missing homework. Juniors can attend these visits only if it occurs during a free period or over lunch. Please connect with Ms. DelTorchio at kdeltorchio@abschools.org with questions.

AP Exams May 2027

Registration is now open! Complete your student's registration and payment in full by Friday, October 30th to avoid late fees. The initial order will be placed with College Board in mid-November, and the final order will be placed in March.

Registration for AP Exams is a two-step process:

Step 1: Students log in to their MyAP College Board account and enter the 6-digit class join code specific to their teacher/block.

Step 2: Students log in to their Total Registration account to pay for the exam. If they do not have a Total Registration account, this is the link to: create a new account.

Students seeking approved accommodations must submit their application and documentation to our SSD Coordinator, Ms. Lindsay Rosenman, at lrosenman@abschools.org by Friday, January 15, 2027.

Food and Personal Care Items Available at AB

Students in need of food or personal care items can access these items through the Food Pantry Outpost in the Counseling Center at no charge. Students can “shop” at the outpost in the Counseling Center (see Ms. DelTorchio) or submit this order form online and pick up their bagged items there. Of course, all information and participation will be kept strictly confidential. For more information on the Food Pantry Outpost, please contact Lindsay Rosenman (lrosenman@abschools.org) in the Counseling Department. The Acton Food Pantry (including the Acton Community Supper) has been providing food assistance to residents of Acton and surrounding towns since 1984, and partnered with the high school in 2020 to provide in-school access to food pantry items.
