GAMEDAY: Trojan football hits the road for huge region matchup



The Carrollton High School football team sailed by the Northgate Vikings this past Friday, 62-14. The program returns to action this week for a big region matchup on the road against the Westlake Lions. Trojan fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets before arriving at the game. Trojan softball travels to East Coweta for round 2

The CHS softball team defeated Mill Creek in round one of the GHSA state playoffs last week, advancing to the sweet 16 for the second consecutive season. The Trojans will travel to East Coweta on Wednesday, Oct. 21, to face the Indians. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., with game two to follow. The games will be broadcast on the Trojan Nation Network.

Trojan boys cross country finishes second at McIntosh Reserve


The Carrollton High School boys cross country team delivered a strong performance at the Coach Wood Invitational, earning a second-place finish. Drew Woznicki set a school record with a time of 14:55, becoming the first Trojan to run under 15:00. For the girls, Lucy Slappey broke the 20-minute mark for the first time, and Gemma Baskin won the junior varsity race. The Trojans return to competition Saturday, Oct. 31, at the GHSA sectional meet hosted by Richmond Hill High School.

Trojan cheer programs perform well at South Forsyth

The Carrollton competition cheerleading teams delivered three strong performances at South Forsyth High School over the weekend. The middle school and junior varsity teams each earned fourth place in their respective divisions. The varsity team captured first place in the 7A division, finishing ahead of North Forsyth and South Forsyth. The programs are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 31, at McIntosh High School.

Trojan volleyball season ends in GHSA playoffs

The CHS volleyball team’s season ended with a first-round loss to Richmond Hill in the GHSA state playoffs. The Trojans finished the season with 19 wins and five players earning all-region honors. Esperanza Sanchez, Kendyl Colquitt, and Kaylee Whitmire earned first-team honors, while Lila Englehart and Ansley Mitchell earned second-team honors. Head coach Morganne Harper also reached a milestone this season, earning her 100th career win.
