Fun @ the Beach VBA Volunteers Needed!

Greetings VBA!

We hope you're having a wonderful Fall season so far! As you know, our mission at Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles is awareness through education and our VBA volunteers are an integral part of making it all come together. If you have yet to experience educating with FOSWST, we would be thrilled to have you at our upcoming education event to make this successful!

Teachers and kids from Paxton, FL travel down to the beach for this fun field trip, which is such a treat since usually it's one of the few times in the year these kids are at the beach. Let's help make it fun for them! We will meet at Fort Panic Beach Access for this event and show them a great time!

*10-12 volunteers are needed to make this event successful. If you have yet to volunteer at an education event, please sign up for this!

Paxton Fun @ the Beach Thursday - 10/30 9:00-11:00 am

*Note: Our Fun @ the Beach program is both fun & physically-engaging. Volunteers should bring water to stay hydrated, and be prepared to be on your feet/moving around for the duration of this event. More info about our different areas of activity are outlined below.

Fun @ the Beach Program

Our Fun @ the Beach program follows up our classroom education with four different fun activities.

Sea Turtle obstacle course, where students are challenged to navigate trash, umbrellas & beach toys to get to their nesting location.
Digging an egg chamber like a momma Sea Turtle.
Picking up trash on the beach to keep it #CleanDarkFlat

We're excited to see our VBA's hitting the beaches for the 2025 season! With beach walking, educational & community events on the calendar it's so important to our organization for all volunteers to please keep track of all of your VBA hours!
