Project Update

February 19, 2025

The Jackson Creek Parkway Widening Project (Higby Road to Highway 105) is part of the Town of Monument’s overall improvements program designed to address community needs and desires for the entire corridor that will also accommodate existing and future development. Design of the “ultimate” roadway widening improvements is underway by the engineering firm of FHU. A construction schedule has not yet been set as the town is working to pursue construction funding.

The widening project specifically involves expanding Jackson Creek Parkway from one lane in each direction to two lanes in each direction, extending the four-lane configuration from Higby Road north to the intersection of Highway 105. Plans also include a raised median, and associated left and right turn lanes and signalization designs at all required intersections. Drainage improvements, median landscaping, sidewalks on both sides of the road, pedestrian and bike pathways, and “Gateway” treatments are also part of the project design.

Several other projects are taking place along or adjacent to the Jackson Creek Parkway corridor and in some cases will overlap with the widening project.  The Town of Monument and the Jackson Creek Parkway Widening Project team are coordinating with other jurisdictional entities and private developers to minimize public inconvenience as much as possible during construction.

Monument Junction Project D (On Jackson Creek Parkway between Highway 105 and just north of Slopeside Street):

Anticipated completion: Fall 2025

Construction by the Monument Junction Metro District’s contractor, Wildcat, is underway to support the Monument Junction development. This is the ultimate build out of the intersection at Jackson Creek Parkway & Highway 105. The Jackson Creek Parkway Interim work previously completed was tied directly to Monument Junction for access to both.

Pictured above are traffic delineators at the intersection of Highway 105 and Jackson Creek Parkway.

Construction Status:

Watch for trucks entering/exiting the construction area and for reduced speeds during construction. Use caution in the construction zone.

  • Traffic delineators are now installed on Highway 105 replacing the barrels eastbound for the right turn southbound on Jackson Creek Parkway
  • Concrete barriers are installed on the eastbound side of Jackson Creek Parkway

Phase 1 construction:
