The Laguna Phuket Marathon, established and operated by GAA Events in 2006, with venue support generously provided by Laguna Resorts & Hotels, has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s premier running events, attracting participants from across the globe. Set in and around the picturesque Laguna Phuket resort, the event offers a unique blend of challenging athleticism and stunning natural beauty. From its humble beginnings, with just 1000 runners, the event has steadily expanded, drawing thousands annually, from elite athletes to casual runners and fitness enthusiasts. The 2019 event attracted a record 13,000 participants.
Over the years, the Laguna Phuket Marathon has earned a reputation for its world-class organization, scenic course, and vibrant international atmosphere. Participants run along beautiful coastal roads, through lush tropical forests, and past serene lagoons, all while experiencing the hospitality and charm of Thailand’s famed island paradise. The event features multiple race categories, including the full marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, 5K, and 2K kids run, ensuring that runners of all ages and abilities can take part in the fun.
The marathon not only promotes health and fitness but also supports local communities through Laguna Phuket's various charity initiatives.
