DuPage County Seeks Resident Feedback

DuPage County residents are invited to complete the County's annual budget survey to share their views regarding programs and initiatives that are important to them. The survey is available online.

In March, the County Board approved a new strategic plan. As part of the budgeting process for FY 2025, residents may share their thoughts on where the Board should make investments related to those strategic objectives. The information helps shape the next year’s budget, determining spending levels for the County’s various programs.

2024 Water Quality Report

The Village maintains a safe, high-quality drinking water system. As a public water utility, the Village is subject to rigorous, routine testing and monitoring to ensure our water complies with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) safety requirements.

The Public Works Department recently completed the 2024 Consumer Confidence Report to provide detailed public information about the Village’s drinking water and its compliance with safety standards.

To view information about the source and quality of your drinking water, please see the online report. Please contact the Public Works Department at (630) 871-6260 if you have any questions or to request a printed copy of the report.

Elder Abuse Awareness Month

Did you know that June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month? Elder abuse can mean physical and psychological harm, but can also manifest through financial exploitation and theft. Nearly 1 in 10 senior citizens are abused or neglected each year. Yet, only 1 in 14 cases of elder abuse is reported to authorities, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Administration for Community Living.

Do you know a senior that may be in need of assistance? DuPage County offers a wide range of assistance and programs for senior residents. For information regarding the types of services available to you or a loved one, please call (630) 407-6500.

Carol Stream Historical Society Dedication Event

The Carol Stream Historical Society will dedicate a memorial tree in honor of the late Gregory J. Bielawski on Saturday, July 13. Mr. Bielawski served as Carol Stream Village Manager from 1980 to 2002. The ceremony will take place at the Historic Farmhouse located at 301 W. Lies Road at 1:00 p.m. An Open House will immediately follow the tree dedication. Tours will also be available until 3:00 p.m.

Greg Bielawski, who passed away November 5, 2022, championed local history. Through his efforts, the Historic Farmhouse was preserved in the 1990’s. It is a vestige of the rural roots of the area and the home of the Carol Stream Historical Society. The house is believed to have been built by the Joseph Stark family prior to 1874. To learn more, visit the Carol Stream Historical Society on Facebook.

Village Hall Closed on July 4
