Beginning a New Chapter - Come Celebrate with Us!

With the help of many, many amazing volunteers, we prepared all 12 of our new apartments in time to begin welcoming guest families this month

In 2024 we accommodated 258 stays for families traveling to Cleveland for transplant care; but we also had to turn away 387 stays due to a lack of vacancies or challenges posed by the stairs on our campus.

This year, through a master lease agreement with First Interstate Properties, we have taken an important step to expand our ability to serve transplant families by adding 12, newly renovated apartments to our existing campus with elevator access.

We have already welcomed 13 guest families to these new units, thanks to the help of some generous, amazing volunteers, and we are excited to improve our ability to meet the rising demand for transplant housing as the programs at the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals grow.

We are also excited to share these new apartments with YOU! Our supporters like you have made this expansion possible and we want to celebrate with you.

On December 4th from 5-6:30 PM we will be hosting a ribbon cutting with refeshments, tours, and brief remarks from our leadership. We would love to see you there!

Our Most Succesful A Second Dance at Life EVER

This year's amazing dancers and their professional dance partners!

Thank you to everyone who supported our A Second Dance at Life Gala — it was our most successful one EVER! We raised $280,000 this year, bringing the total dollars raised across the five times we’ve held the event to an incredible $1.2 million!

Every dollar helps us welcome transplant families into a community that provides comfort, stability, and connection when they need it most.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for a night filled with joy, dancing, and celebration of the gift of life. We can’t wait to welcome supporters to our next gala in spring 2027. Until then, be sure to check out all the photos from the evening!

Meal Volunteers: This Holiday Season, Help Us Provide a Community of Comfort at Transplant House

We have two meal dates in need of volunteers: December 3 and December 31.

These weekly community meals offer guests the chance to enjoy a delicious meal surrounded by others on a similar journey and are especially meaningful during the Holiday season when our guests are away from home and their loved ones. Providing nourishment for the body and the heart, these dinners are a source of lasting friendships and loving support when our guests need them most.

Lisa Andrews celebrates the gift of a second chance at life!

After 16 months at Transplant House and a wait of more than 1 year for her double lung transplant, we were thrilled to celebrate with Lisa and her husband and caregiver Patrick before they returned to their home in Colorado. Lisa's journey was a challenging one, with a long wait and multiple dry runs; but during the time she was here at the House, Lisa became such an important part of our community. We are grateful for the love and care she showed her fellow guests during her stay. Her ready smile, perserverence, and humor will be missed, but we are so happy that she and Patrick are back home!

The gift of life is such a precious gift and as we celebrated this milestone for Lisa, we also held her donor and their family in our hearts. Their "yes" gave Lisa her second chance at life.

Thank you to this great group of Cleveland Clinic Transplant Pharmacists who volunteered to help us prepare for our move into our 12 new apartments. They organized items for the move and prepared welcome books so that each of our new spaces are ready to host the first of many guest families.

And they did it all with big smiles to boot!

Dinner Donation from Sittoo's University Circle

When we were in need of volunteers for our weekly dinner on short notice, our neighbors at Sittoo's Lebanese Grill University Circle stepped up in a BIG way by generously donating a catered meal of assorted entrees and desserts from their delicious menu! We are so grateful for the kindness of manager, Firas Haykal, for making the donation, sitting down with our guests at our table, and giving the gift of nourishing food and community to our guest families.

Ring that Bell!

Ring that bell! We said a very fond farewell to Griffith and Kristine Crammond who returned home in Michigan after 77 nights at Transplant House. Before they left, Griffith rang the bell to celebrate his heart transplant! We are grateful we could celebrate this important milestone with them and support them during their transplant journey.
