This year’s Homecoming theme,
Decades of Spirit
, celebrates WKU’s heritage and honors the University’s traditions over its 113-year history.
“For some, ‘spirit’ simply means pride in your school,” said Ginny Hensley, Director of Alumni Engagement. “At WKU, ‘spirit’ runs deeper. Our first President, Dr. Henry Hardin Cherry, coined the phrase, ‘The Spirit Makes the Master,’ which still guides our campus community today.”
Homecoming week
activities include pep rallies, a parade, reunions, award presentations and hall of fame inductions. Events begin Oct. 17 with the Homecoming Chili and Cheese Luncheon and Pep Rally. Homecoming Friday Night on Oct. 18 will be highlighted by the annual parade and Big Red’s Roar. Homecoming Day on Oct. 19 will feature tailgating, the crowning of the Homecoming queen and the football game between the Hilltoppers and Charlotte.
“Homecoming brings together all members of the WKU Family to celebrate one thing we all have in common – the WKU Spirit,” Hensley said.
