Building Faithfully Campaign
Sunday, October 4
| | | |
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
As we look back over more than forty years, we see how Christ Covenant has been greatly blessed by the Lord’s provision. From humble beginnings to the many resources we have today, God is faithfully building us into a growing and vibrant community of believers. From pastors who faithfully preached the Word, to the hundreds of members who served and sacrificed, the Lord has used his people to build his church here in Matthews, North Carolina. We are thankful that his blessings have been far beyond what anyone could have imagined and that he continues to guide us as we prepare for future generations. As you reflect on and give thanks for his goodness, we pray you will be informed and prayerful about these new projects and what role you have in investing in generations to come. As you prepare to make your commitment on Sunday, October 18 or 25, find out more about the Building Faithfully Campaign by clicking here.

Deacons' Special Offering
Sunday, October 4
| | | |
Our deacons’ special offering this Sunday, October 4 is for Changed Choices. Changed Choices is a 27-year-old, non-profit organization of Christ-followers serving women who are incarcerated and recently released. The organization provides Bible studies and prayer, personal development programs, basic physical needs, transitional services, counseling, and family support to ensure the successful rehabilitation and post-release transition of incarcerated women who have demonstrated a commitment to making positive, productive, and sustainable choices in their lives.
The organization’s program, along with community partnerships, has made Changed Choices a leader in helping women build new lives beyond prison walls. With a recidivism rate of 0% (versus 50% for North Carolina), Changed Choices clients continue to show the effectiveness of the program.
Changed Choices relies on a strong volunteer base and generous donors to carry out our mission. Volunteer options (remote and in-person) include occasional Meal Providers, service as a correspondence Bible Study Partner, event or office assistant, and more.
If you would like to learn about volunteer options with Changed Choices, please stop by the main lobby in the worship center this Sunday to meet Changed Choices employees and volunteers from our church or contact Susan Padgett. Please place all special/monthly communion offering gifts in an envelope (found in pews) and label it ‘Special Communion Offering’ and include the name of the ministry before placing your gift in one of the tithe boxes located inside the sanctuary at our main doors in the north, south and toward the main lobby. You can also give online by clicking here.
