JB joined HMC in October 2023 as a Specification Manager for the Dallas area. He is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University, holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Before joining HMC, JB worked as an MEP Project Engineer at a firm in Dallas, where he managed projects across the country.
In his new role, JB will oversee the Specification Group’s activities, ensuring they align with overall project goals and supporting clear, effective communication across the team. The Specification Group plays a critical role in supporting Project Sales by working closely with architects, engineers, facility managers, and owners across their assigned markets. They introduce represented products for upcoming projects, build action plans around specification needs, and develop cost estimates by reviewing blueprints and collaborating with technical teams.
The group also follows up with approving authorities on product details and sizing, adjusts quotations as engineering changes occur, and provides ongoing technical support and training to their contacts. By staying current on codes, standards, and legislation, they help ensure project compliance while guiding customers through changing requirements. Continuous learning, workshops, and a focus on innovation keep the team adaptable in a fast-moving industry.
JB’s technical background, leadership skills, and deep industry knowledge position him well to lead this team, and we’re confident he will do a phenomenal job in this role.
Outside of work, JB enjoys designing and building custom furniture. He’s an avid live music fan and a big dog lover. JB and his wife are also excited to be welcoming their first child in just a few weeks.
JB reports to Aaron May, Vice President of Plumbing Products, who said this about JB, “We’re thrilled to have JB’s strong engineering background and hands-on project experience leading our Specification team. His technical insight, leadership, and attention to detail will be a huge asset as we continue to grow our specification efforts and strengthen relationships across the engineering and design community.”
We’re proud to celebrate JB and his well-deserved promotion, and we wish him continued success in this role!
