"I want to thank all those who have prayed for me, have sent cards, and/or have come to see me. I have moved to room 224 at Benton House, Blue Springs, to continue my recovery. I love my church family so much!  Pat Carle"

Make Christmas brighter

Community Services League's Christmas Store is a long-time tradition to provide Christmas assistance to our neighbors in need. This wonderful event allows parents to find a toy or gift for their children to open on Christmas day who otherwise would not receive a gift.

Resurrection supports this outreach by asking parish members to take a tag from our gift tree and purchase the item on the tag. Then place the unwrapped gift under the tree before Monday, December 8. We'll take it from there and deliver the donations to CSL to brighten the Christmas morning of many families!

If you are interested in helping sort gifts or escort recipients through the Christmas Store on Friday, December 12, please call Amanda at CSL at (816) 690-8213.

The final Sunday of the church's liturgical year

Christ the King Sunday is a feast celebrated on the last Sunday of the liturgical year.

It celebrates Christ's messianic kingship and sovereign rule over all creation. Christ the King Sunday is meant to celebrate that Christ is the king of Heaven and Earth, both in the past, the present, and the future.

The feast was originally instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925 and celebrated on the last Sunday in Oct. It has been observed on the last Sunday before Advent since 1970.
