A Prayer for our Country

Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage:

May we always prove ourselves a people

mindful of your favor and glad to do your will.

Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners.

Save us from violence, discord, and confusion;

from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way.

Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people

the multitudes brought together out of many kindreds and tongues.

Guide us in the election of officials and representatives;

that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected

and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes.

In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness,

and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail;

all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We have the privilege of hosting the two-day 118th Annual Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta this weekend. Bishop Wright will be preaching on the theme To Be Witnesses at the opening Eucharist in the nave at 9:00 AM on Friday November 8. You can watch it online here.

A Note of Gratitude from Solidarity Sandy Springs

Dear Holy Innocents’ Parishioners,

A huge THANK YOU from Solidarity Sandy Springs for your very generous $5000 matching grant funds from your Outreach Committee to kick off our campaign to fund our Monthly Senior Pop-up Markets!

Because of your generosity, what began as a project to help our neighbors at the Dorothy Benson Center can now expand to Sandy Springs’ Sterling Place, a HUD subsided senior living facility on Allen Road. Because of your support, we have raised $12,713 so far. That’s almost enough to cover the first half of 2025!

Since January we have served over 1100 senior shoppers with our monthly pop-ups at The Benson Center. Sterling Place has an additional 100 apartments housing 130 at-risk seniors. With this funding, we are able to provide 10 to 15 nutritional, fresh produce items, with each person taking home 10-20 pounds of food. You have never seen such excitement over broccoli and blueberries! Joy certainly comes from a lot of places.

Holy Innocents is a shining example of Neighbors Helping Neighbors! Thank you for helping Solidarity support our senior community! We invite you to become part of our Senior Service volunteer group and experience the joy of giving back for yourself!

Appreciatively,

Jennifer Barnes, Co-founder

Solidarity Sandy Springs

An Unexpected Guide

to Human Nature & Happiness

Join the Rev. John Porter and Rev. Dr. Bill Murray each week at 9:00 AM in Inglett Hall as they lead conversations filled with quotes and ideas from thinkers like Thomas Jefferson, Adam Smith, the French Enlightenment as well as Jesus, the prophets, and a long line of Christian thinkers.

How do we work together? What do I owe my neighbor and myself? What do we do when they drive us crazy? What do we want in this life or the next? How does all of this work as individuals, as a community, and with our faith?
