Together, We’re Moving CSA Forward

It was great to see so many CSA members in Sacramento this past weekend for our House of Delegates. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a productive weekend.

A few highlights:

Supporting our residents

The HOD approved a resolution addressing paid sick leave for anesthesiology residents and referred the issue to a task force to explore how CSA can best support residents and promote fairness and wellness in training.

Engaging the next generation

We’re looking at new ways to increase medical student involvement in CSA and create meaningful opportunities for students, residents, and early-career anesthesiologists to get connected.

Title transparency

Our Practice Management Committee continues its work on title transparency and badging to help patients better understand the roles and credentials of their care team.

Looking ahead:

I’m currently in Austin with Executive Director Megan MacNee and President-Elect John Hsieh, MD, for ASAE Exceptional Board training. We’re bringing new ideas back to CSA as we work to strengthen our organization and serve our members.

I’m honored to serve as your President and excited for the year ahead. Thank you for being part of CSA—I look forward to working with you.

Governor Signs AB 1703 (Hart) Into Law

The bill will protect patients from unlicensed osteopathic practices by prohibiting the use of the term "osteopath" unless the person is a credentialed and licensed osteopathic physician.
