Dear Stoners, get ready for our annual Spring Release on April 5, 6 and 7 at our Woodinville Tasting Room. I always get excited because it is a chance to see how the white and rose’ wines we made in the fall came out and we can share the reds that we have been holding back to let them age. Of the four bottles in the release, one is the 2018 Grenache Blanc from Boushey Vineyards. It was picked a little later than last year to enhance the flavor profile, and like last year, it is light and fruity and balanced. It is the perfect warm weather wine just to kick back and sip while you bask in the spring sunshine. The biggest excitement for me in this release is the 2018 Rose’. We shortened the length of time that the juice sat on the skins to less than 24 hours and the result is a lighter color, but the Grenache and Cab Franc that it was made from were exceptionally good this year and when you taste this, you will understand my excitement. The third selection is the 2016 Grenache, which, as I said, was just good fruit from the start. We waited a year from bottling to release this wine to let the flavors integrate more completely and I believe it was worth the wait. Last, we just had to include the 2016 Grateful Red because it is everyone’s favorite and wanted the wine club to have one before it is sold out. The Bacchus Cab Franc that is the dominant grape came through to make this blend exceptional along with some added Walla Walla Malbec that gives it the gusto to make this wine an award winner.
