College and Future Planning
Parents of Seniors
- Students should be checking their college student portals 2-3 times a week to make sure they don't miss important information.
- May 1st is a common deadline to pay enrollment deposits and accept scholarships.
- Students should be working on housing - information is generally available in their college student portal. If they are having difficulty, they should contact the college
- Many colleges require students to sign up for an orientation. These often happen in the summer. Please be aware of possible dates and get signed up!
- Final transcripts will be sent by Gross to the college in the month of June.
- Students who have earned college credit from UNO, College of St. Mary or Metro must request the transcript to be sent to the college of their choice. Mrs. McNamara will send instructions on how to do this to their gcgmail account in May.
Important News from FAFSA
Students who need to still submit their FAFSA or an updated FAFSA will experience processing delays beginning April 26 and lasting through mid-May. If a student still needs to submit a FAFSA or correction, they can do so, but should try to complete this before April 26th. If submitted after April 26th, they will likely encounter a delay in receiving a financial aid package from the college.
Graduation Program:
Students can continue to submit scholarships they have earned to be included in the graduation program. The deadline for submitting scholarships for the graduation program is May 6th.
Recognition Day
We do our best to provide accurate information in both the recognition day and graduation program. If you notice an error in the recognition day program, please alert Mrs. Kalamaja (kalamaja@gcgmail.org) and she will work to make the correction. Thank you for your understanding and support!
