COURT REMINDERS: PLEASE READ

Since a lot of players have made the transition to the outdoor courts we need to remember a few courtesy things.

  • Please play ONLY during your designated times - Unless it is OPEN play. If you are a player that is between divisions- EXAMPLE, I am a 3.0 player but not sure if I should move up to the low 3.5- On Wednesday I come in and play play with the low 3.5 group, but then I decide stay and play with the 3.0 group. If there are open courts then I could stay to play. BUT if the courts are full I SHOULD NOT stay and continue to play since I have already played that day and me staying would take away playing time from other players for that day.
  • Welcome new players, or help visitors to find the right times for their skill level.
  • Remember, you were all once a beginner, help new players with court etiquette and rules.
  • If the courts are open before or after your scheduled times you are welcome to play-just remember that if the courts are full or people are waiting you should only be playing during your designated time/playing level.

We are very blessed to have 3 indoor courts available for pickleball play from 5:30 am - 3:00 pm almost every single weekday as well as 6 outdoor courts.

If you have any questions about this policy feel free to talk to myself or Justin Mashburn.

We appreciate your help in making new players feel welcome and working with the MRD staff to make this the best environment for players and staff and the other 7,000 + members of our community and visitors who use the Rec Center.

Medical Emergencies

Pleased familiarize yourself with how to respond if there is a medical emergency on the courts. Know who to call or where to go.

Outdoor Courts: If it is a serious issue call 911 and have someone else call the front desk at 970-249-7705, tell them you have an emergency on the outdoor pickleball courts and need assistance and that 911 is already been called. The lifeguards will respond asap and provide medical attention until relieved by FIRE/EMS.

Indoor Courts: Have someone go to the front desk so they can activate our lifeguards to respond, it is important to tell them where exactly the person is within the facility. If needed they would also call 911 to respond.

AED's are located at the main entrance to the pools below the stairwell and upstairs just outside of the elevator and Fitzone class.
