We had a fantastic cooking class at our Golden Gate location - A truly remarkable experience. A heartfelt thanks goes to Elizabeth and Carol from the University of Florida IFAS for making this experience possible. Their support not only provided parents with valuable culinary knowledge but also ensured that they had cooking supplies to take home. We are truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity to show our moms how to cook a nutritious and delicious chicken stir fry. This event emphasized the importance of healthy eating and family involvement in their children's learning journey.

Continuing our commitment to providing the best possible care and education, our staff recently participated in Conscious Discipline professional learning sessions. This training equipped our educators with valuable tools to support children's social-emotional development and create a positive classroom environment. We are excited to implement these strategies to enhance the overall well-being of our students.

Our dedicated teachers have been diligently conducting beginning-of-the-year assessments on their students. These assessments help us gain valuable insights into each child's unique strengths and areas for growth. By understanding their individual needs, we can tailor our teaching strategies to provide them with the best possible educational experience.

This month, our teachers have been instructing our young learners about the importance of healthy eating through the MyPlate program. MyPlate is a valuable tool that helps children understand the significance of a balanced diet. We believe that instilling healthy eating habits from a young age is crucial to their overall well-being and development. Our teachers are excited to continue promoting healthy choices in our classrooms.

Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of nurturing and educating young children!

Here's to a fantastic year of growth, discovery, and endless possibilities!

With warm regards,

Jessica

Teacher Professional Learning Day

Our teachers had a wonderful day of professional development during our recent Fun Time Professional Development Day, which took place on September 25th.

We furthered our knowledge on Conscious Discipline and learned a variety of engaging activities to incorporate into our classrooms. Thank you to Bertha Mendez from the Guadalupe Center and Jen Shaaff from Able Academy, who provided this.

Fun Time Garden Project

We recently started our Garden Project at our Downtown location. The Healthy Earth Organization, along with several Fun Time Volunteers from Greater Naples Leadership and students from FGCU and FSW planted a variety of herbs, vegetables, and flowers with our students. The students' excitement in getting the garden beds ready and planting seeds.

We look forward to bringing these wonderful gardening opportunities to our other locations soon!

Physical Development: Health & Well-Being

This month, children learned about making healthy food choices in conjunction with MyPlate and the five food groups. They learned that making good food choices and exercising help them keep their bodies healthy.

Our students continued to build their understanding of friendships and learning by taking turns and sharing toys and items at centers.

Lastly, children began to identify and understand their five senses and how each sense helps them discover and engage in the world.
