Dear DSHA families,

Parents, you are valued partners in helping our daughters grow into the person God intends them to be. Wherever you go, I will go. Examples of traditional ways we engage our parent community include:

  • We welcome and encourage your participation in the DSHA community
  • Feel welcome to send a teacher or school counselor a professional email if you have questions.
  • Attend theatre and sporting events.
  • Volunteer
  • Read the Dasher Digest
  • Attend parent coffees

We are always looking for new ways to engage parents, and I’d like to highlight a few new things for 2026-2027.

  • Salvatorian Family House System:
  • There will be ways parents can earn points for their daughter’s house: For example, parents who attend Back-to-School Night Thursday evening and who complete the end-of-night survey will earn house points.
  • We are considering other Salvatorian Family House System events where parents can earn points for their daughters' houses. Examples may include sporting or theatre events.
  • Related to our more personalized approach to student support, two ideas we are considering include:
  • Inviting sophomore parents to participate in 1:1 meetings with your daughter and her school counselor in the spring semester related to course selection.
  • Inviting junior parents to participate in 1:1 meetings with your daughter and her school counselor in the spring semester related to starting the college search process.
  • Meetings formerly known as Parent Association meetings will be referred to as parent coffees. Come as you can. You need not attend every meeting. We try to have topics worthy of insight. We have also eliminated the fee to join the Parent Association.
  • Our communications team has renamed the eNews as Dasher Digest and has made user-friendly format changes.
  • Check out our new volunteer form. We hope that you might find time to support DSHA with your time or talent.

Together as parents and school, we work together to accompany our daughters on their journeys through high school so that they may grow in faith, heart, and intellect. We are grateful for your engagement and participation.

God bless,

Dan Quesnell

Principal

FROM THE ACADEMIC DEAN

Salvatorian Global Scholars Program | This year, encourage your daughter to explore the Salvatorian Global Scholars Program.

Inspired by the mission of the Sisters of the Divine Savior, the Salvatorian Global Scholars Program allows students to grow as global citizens with the intent to foster an awareness of a loving God. In this program, scholars prepare for higher education and careers in the humanities, in which multilingual proficiency, intercultural experience, and knowledge of diverse cultures are assets. Scholars are intentional about learning world culture, geography, history, earth science, world literature, fine arts, and religion in a world that is becoming increasingly diverse and interdependent.

To obtain the DSHA Salvatorian Global Scholars Honors Certificate, students will complete the required components, including:

  • Course work
  • Co-curricular activities
  • Intercultural experiences
  • Community service related to a global issue

Students select courses and track their progress by completing requirement trackers. Dashers are encouraged to consult with global scholar committee members.

In the 2023-24 school year, DSHA rolled out the Global Scholar program, and 12 seniors successfully met the requirements and were awarded the Salvatorian Global Scholars Honors Certificate in May. Among these scholars, students participated in a broad base of humanities by taking four years of world language, and many exceeded the requirements of global studies and fine arts coursework. Six students obtained the Seal of Biliteracy in French and Spanish in addition to the honors certificate.

Students may register for the Salvatorian Global Scholars Honors Program by picking up an application in the Student Services Office or in a World Language classroom. They may also request a digital application from Academic Dean Erin Housiaux.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up | The DSHA security team works hard to ensure the safety of our entire school community in all areas of our campus. Please help us keep our parking lots and entrances safe by following these guidelines:

  • Please use the main DSHA driveway entrance for morning drop-off and after-school pick-up. Do not enter campus using the north driveway by the Sisters of the Divine Savior building.
  • Before school, please ONLY drop students off at the back gym doors.
  • After school, please ONLY pick up students at the back gym doors.
  • Only use the inside lane closest to the building for drop-off and pick-up. The outside lane is for driving and passing.
  • When exiting, drive all the way around the building to exit the parking lot by the Sisters of the Divine Savior building. The gates in the front parking lot will be closed during the day.
  • If your daughter drives, please remind her to drive slowly in the parking lot and keep an eye out for pedestrians.
  • If your daughter parks in the neighborhood and is staying after school for an activity, encourage her to move her car into the parking lot after school.

DSHA has security on campus from 7:30 am-8 pm Monday through Friday. Students and parents are encouraged to reach out to Security Manager Patrick Brousseau with any safety concerns on or around campus.
