Ten years ago, we shared the story of Hank, a single dad with a newborn son. Hank had been recently released from prison, was struggling with addiction, and was determined to turn his life around for his son. Hank and his FBB Home Visitor, Billie, developed a strong relationship as she provided the support and encouragement that Hank needed to start a new chapter of his life. Hank worked hard and broke the cycles he was raised in. His son Henry is now a thriving and vibrant 11-year-old in our Salem community. Billie is proud to have played a role in his success.
As the Relief Nursery serving Marion and Polk counties, we partner with parents with very young children to break the intergenerational cycle of child abuse and neglect. Historically, 99% of the children served in FBB’s prevention programs are able to live safely with their parents, avoiding foster care and the trauma caused by abuse and neglect.
On Thursday, October 17, we are expecting nearly 850 community leaders to attend our Dream Builders Luncheon at the Salem Convention Center, from Noon-1:00pm. This event is free and a complimentary lunch is provided. RSVP today!
RSVP to Claudia at cvorse@familybuildingblocks.org or 503-566-2132.
