Dear EAC GEAR UP 3 Community,

As we come to the close of an incredible six-year journey, we reflect on the transformative impact Eastern Arizona College GEAR UP 3 programs have had on the lives of Arizona’s students. It has been an honor to collaborate with our partner school districts, administration, staff, students, parents, and especially the dedicated GEAR UP Coordinators across each district.

From 7th grade to 12th grade, this cohort of students has grown, learned, and thrived. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones:

1.     Dual Enrollment Success: Our students have embraced the opportunity to participate in dual enrollment programs, gaining college-level experience while still in high school. Together, GU students took nearly 400 more dual enrollment/credit courses than the class of 2023! Their commitment to higher education has been inspiring.

2.     ACT Scores Soar: Through hard work and determination, our students have achieved higher ACT scores, positioning themselves for brighter futures. These scores are a testament to their dedication and the unwavering support of our educators.

3.     FAFSA Triumphs: Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be daunting, but our students and their families have risen to the challenge. More students completing FAFSA applications mean more opportunities for financial aid and college access.

As we bid farewell to this chapter, let us carry forward the spirit of collaboration, resilience, and hope. The impact of EAC GEAR UP 3 will resonate for years to come, shaping the future of our students and our community.

2024 FEDERAL GEAR UP GRANT COMPETITION!

EAC GU has written for the 2024 GEAR UP grant competition.

Award announcements expected: Late August or early September 2024

As we eagerly anticipate the announcement of federal awards, we are hopeful to receive our 4th GEAR UP grant! The hard work and dedication of our team, school districts, and community partners have been instrumental in this effort.
