As the semester winds down and the weather finally begins to warm up, there's a renewed energy across campus. From final performances and gallery showcases to students preparing for final papers and exams, it’s clear we’re in the homestretch.
This April, we’re excited to celebrate a few major highlights. First, we officially launched our new Sports Media Production certificate through the Department of Communication and Media. This is an exciting opportunity for students passionate about storytelling, athletics, and media. We’ve also expanded our digital presence with the launch of the College of Arts and Humanities LinkedIn account. We invite you to follow us and stay connected with the incredible work happening across our departments.
Looking for a way to support student artists before the semester ends? Join us on April 18 from 11:30 AM to 2 PM in Sykes 115 for a student-led art sale organized by student ambassador Abby Banks. It’s a wonderful chance to discover unique, original pieces and support WCU’s creative community.
We’re also preparing for Commencement next month, which is always a meaningful time to celebrate our graduating students and all they’ve accomplished. Whether they’re heading into careers, graduate school, or taking time to explore what’s next, we couldn’t be prouder.
As always, we encourage everyone to take advantage of the final weeks of spring programming. This includes RENT on the MainStage Theatre from April 3 to 6 and the revolving student art displays at the E.O. Bull Center. These final performances and exhibits are a great reminder of the talent and passion that define the Arts and Humanities here at WCU.
To our supporters, alumni, and friends: thank you for continuing to champion the arts and humanities at West Chester University. Your engagement, encouragement, and enthusiasm help make our work possible—both inside the classroom and beyond it. We hope you’ll stay connected, join us for future events, and celebrate the many accomplishments of our students, faculty, and graduates.
Wishing you a joyful spring and a restorative summer,
Dean Jen Bacon
