Investing in our Membership

to Strengthen our Organization

Let us help!

The Middle Atlantic Swimming Safe Sport Committee has concluded the “To Get You Started” series on the USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognition Program (SSRP). Thank you to all clubs who participated - many of you are making strong progress.

Just as a reminder, the Middle Atlantic Swimming Board of Directors has updated our LSC policy to require all Middle Atlantic clubs hosting USA-S sanctioned meets be SSRP certified. This requirement is to start January 2026.

To support this effort, each host club has been assigned a "MASCot" (MA Safe Sport Committee member) available to personally assist throughout the process. While the SSRP is designed to be straightforward, your MASCot is a familiar face from local meets and a helpful resource to keep everyone on track.

MASCot Club Assignments:

  • Lisa Serafin: CBST, CYA, DSA, DST, FCA, FSSC, JW, MSA, NLAC, PAAC, PACE, PWAC, RAC
  • David Acker: BWA, WSY, YY
  • Tara Bolivar: CC, CVAC, ECCC, GSA, SSC
  • Ariana Cecere: BHA, EMAC, GAAC, LAC, PDR, SEA, SJAC, UDAC, WA
  • Lisa Palochik: BLUE, EAAC, MERC, NPAC
  • Jen Willard: HAC, PSC, WAC

If your club has previously worked on SSRP, you were likely contacted during short course season. New clubs are being contacted now. If you haven’t heard from your MASCot by the end of June, check your Safe Sport Coordinator or head coach/admin email (including spam folders), or contact Lisa Serafin at SafeSportCommittee@maswim.org.

For technical questions, contact USA Swimming directly at ssrp@usaswimming.org.

Summer is the best time to complete most SSRP requirements to be ready to introduce them to families when your club registration opens for the new season. Early submission is encouraged as revisions may be required before certification is approved.

Thank you,

Lisa Serafin
