10,000 Years of Personal Development
International Yoga Day
June 21, 2021

Sat Nam All,

The photo above was taken a year ago today. We and the world have changed so much in that time. The one steady and constant for me has been my daily Kundalini Yoga and Meditation practice.

To mark International Yoga Day, Marking this day here are some of my thoughts to acknowledge one of the world's oldest systems of personal development.

  1. What we do on the mat is a small piece of the practice - Kundalini Yoga is a lived experience. Using mantra, meditation and breath work in moments of joy, remembrance, activity, insight are where the real learnings happen.
  2. When in doubt - turn inward. Meditation matters especially when fear and anxiety loom large.
  3. A calm mind is a communal gift. As we hold space for ourselves; our friends, family and colleagues also receive our loving presence.
  4. Vitality comes from freedom in the body and spirit.
  5. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Self love leads to more transformation than any diet, degree or possession could ever bring.
  6. In powerful and provocative ways - Kundalini Yoga and Meditation have kicked my ass, nudged me when I was stuck and shown me the door when it was time to leave a situation, beleif or habit.

I don't know where I would be without these practices. I would likely not be here with you on YouTube, leading Online Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training or on Zoom calls for Numerology sessions.

The teachings turned me toward my Sat Nam - my truth and I feel so very blessed to have answered the call. I would love to hear from you - hit the reply button and let me know how Yoga and Meditation have transformed you.

With love,
Salimah

July 3, is just a few days away. . .

Truth Be Told - I'm a Birthday-Zilla

I start counting down the months, weeks and days to my birthday in January. I've always been like that. I never got it when people would downplay their birthday, gag at getting older or turndown presents. Not me!

Living in Toronto, Canada I've had the good fortune to have Pride, Canada Day and my birthday fall in the same weekend. Exactly the kind of party I like! Big, bold, non-apologetic celebration of freedom, time and growth.

Since we are on one of my favourite topics - let me also assure you that my birthday is not just about me.

  • I am in awe of the love and support that surround me every day. I like to make sure everyone gets a present on my birthday.
  • Let's just celebrate for the full month of July, ok?
  • Every year, I invest in my learning, because what would wisdom be without age and experience?

With these little tidbits in mind - please watch your inbox for awesome birthday treats I want to share with you. Think sweet deals on Numerology (a personal birthday reading for you), Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training (the start of life long learning) and Meditation Specialist Program (make your mind your bestie).

By the way, yes that's me back in the early 70's with my hip parents just before we immigrated from Kenya to Canada.

...and if you want to wish me an early happy birthday, hit the reply button.
