Highlights from the January 9, 2026 Board Meeting | Public Hearing Scheduled for 1/21/2026: Establishment of New Position- Village Auditor | |
The Board of Trustees scheduled a public hearing to establish a new position and process within the Village to provide an additional internal control for the payment of bills. The newly established part-time Auditor would provide an additional review confirming that all purchasing adheres to Village policies and State and Federal regulations before payment is issued. This extra layer of review helps mitigate any risks associated with the expenditure of public money, and helps the Village meet requirements imposed by New York State.
This would be a part-time position. Once the position is created, the Village will post a job announcement. A pertinent job description and associated requirements can be found on the Westchester County Human Resources page where local government positions are posted. We would welcome a member of the community with corresponding skills and experience to apply for the position once it has been established. Employment opportunities with the Village can be found on the Village website.
| | Camp, Pool, Picnics: Summer is Coming | | |
The Board amended the fee schedule for Camp, Pool, Picnics and the Fitness Center in preparation for opening up Pierson Park Picnic Pavilion reservations in the coming weeks. Camp and Pool Registration will open later in the Spring.
Each year, as budget preparation begins, the Departments review what costs have increased, and what fees need to be amended to meet rising costs. The amended fees can be found in the meeting agenda. Stay tuned to Rec Department announcements for Pool and Camp information when registration opens.

New EV Charging Stations Ready for Use
Project was fully funded by grants and incentives
| | |
Thanks to a grant from Westchester County and incentives provided by Con Edison and the New York State Energy Research Development Agency (NYSERDA), the Village has installed 20 new electric vehicle charging stations in four municipal parking lots. There are 4 new chargers in the Washington Street West Lot (Lot 4 - next to the indoor parking garage), 4 new chargers in Lot D next to the Recreation Center, 6 new chargers in the Lot next to Village Hall (Lot A) and 6 new chargers in the McKeel parking lot (Lot 5). The charging stations in Lot D, Lot A and Lot 4 are all activated and operational. The McKeel Lot chargers will be activated in the coming weeks.
As part of the County-wide installation project, the chargers will use the ChargePoint system. Users can download the app. For information about how to do so, check out their guidance online. Parking fees and rules apply when charging. There is a $.30/kWh charge for the electricity.
The Village will also be replacing the existing charging stations at Lot C (next to the Train Station) to convert them to ChargePoint stations in conformity with the others.
Confused about where to find these chargers? The ChargePoint map can direct you, or check out our interactive municipal parking map online.
