Nevada 4-H Camp Alamo

May 28 - May 30, 2025
Participant cost of $144 includes meals, lodging, and transportation to and from the camp. Open to youth ages 12-16. Registration due by May 6, 2025.

This four day/three night camp is designed to introduce youth to horseback games, crafts, and team-building exercises with fellow horse enthusiasts. Participants will take part in daily riding sessions and horsemanship activities.
Nevada 4-H Camp Alamo

July 29 - Aug. 1, 2025
Participant cost of $250 includes youth meals, lodging, and transportation to and from the camp to arena. Registration due by May 1, 2025.
Participants must provide for and transport their own horse; including feed, necessary supplies, and saddle. 4-H safety gear required.

Come join our annual archery competition and compete against fellow 4-Her’s.
This event is only open to youth enrolled in a 4-H archery project. Youth must be enrolled in 4-H online to compete. Registration is $5.

In these workshops, students will have fun working in the community gardens toward a gardening certification.
The Junior Master Gardener program is an international youth gardening program of the University Extension Network. JMG engages children in novel, “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the community and environment, and cultivate the mind.
Open to all ages. Students under 10 years old will require guardian presence. No prior gardening experience needed.
Classes are free but students will be required to purchase the JMG Handbook.

The Nevada 4-H Shooting Sports Committee has announced a statewide postal match for all youth currently enrolled in a 4-H shooting sports project.
The postal match for Clark County will be held on June 27 from 5-8 pm at the Clark County Shooting Complex and will only feature archery.

Come show off your livestock knowledge and skills by competing in the State Livestock Skillathon and Quiz Bowl Contest. 4-H members will participate in livestock breed, feed, equipment, and meat identification, team activities including ear notching, cattle tags and animal breeding and a fun quiz bowl game to show off their livestock knowledge.

Nevada Junior Livestock Show Board
Youth Advisory Council
| |
The Nevada Junior Livestock Show Board established a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in 1990. The council comprises exhibitors who are in and showing at the current Show.
Past councils have provided valuable input that has been incorporated into the planning of future shows. The Board intends that this Council will be of and for youth involved in the Show.
The youth will be the determining factors as to the direction and functions
of the Council. The YAC will provide a written report to the Board following the Show and Sale. If you would like to apply to be part of the council, please visit the link below.

4-H Community Based Instructor - STEM
The University of Nevada, Reno Southern Area Extension is recruiting for a Community-Based Instructor 3 for Clark County. This position is located in Las Vegas Nevada.
The Community-Based Instructor 3 will design and deliver research-based curricula using interactive teaching methods, fostering positive youth development, and implementing engaging educational experiences in schools, community centers, libraries, public housing sites, and camp programs.
Key responsibilities include program planning, lesson development, and logistics coordination to ensure effective program delivery. This position is vital in outreach and communication efforts by promoting programs through social media, flyers, and community engagement initiatives, as well as assisting with leadership programs and special events such as STEM fairs and Career Days.
