The Prince of Peace Endowment

Securing Our Future

The Prince of Peace Endowment is more than a fund; it is a permanent foundation for our mission. By preserving the principal and only distributing a portion of the earnings, we ensure that your gifts become a living legacy—supporting the Gospel at Prince of Peace for generations to come.

How It Works

  • Professional Oversight: Our funds are managed by the LCMS Foundation, providing expert, faith-aligned investment stewardship.
  • Integrity & Security: The Endowment is independent of the general operating budget. The church cannot "spend down" the principal, ensuring the fund remains a perpetual source of support.
  • Strategic Growth: A portion of annual earnings is distributed to fuel specific ministry initiatives that fall outside our normal operating expenses.

Our Current Funds

We currently steward two distinct funds, allowing donors to support the broad mission of the church or a specific, vital ministry:

1. General Endowment Fund

  • Purpose: Supports our three pillars: Know God, Grow Together, and Serve the World
  • Focus: Seed Money for Ministry and Mission

The purpose of the Church Endowment Fund is to provide “seed money” for new ministry initiatives, community outreach efforts, and evangelism opportunities that extend the mission of the church beyond the scope of the regular operating budget.

Church ministries and programs may apply for endowment support for special projects and mission-focused needs, including:

  • New ministry initiatives and outreach opportunities
  • Evangelism tools and community engagement efforts
  • Worship and music enhancements
  • Community care and benevolence initiatives
  • Accessibility and facility improvements that support ministry
  • Expanded outreach ministries and local mission partnerships
  • Innovative programs that help the church better serve the community

2. Christian Childcare and Early Education Fund

Purpose: Dedicated to the growth, care, and spiritual development of our youngest disciples.

Focus: Limited to children 10 years of age and under supporting specialized curriculum, classroom and playground improvements, childcare resources, and early childhood education initiatives that nurture faith, learning, safety, and development. Examples of eligible initiatives may include:

  • Specialized curriculum
  • Classroom improvements
  • Playground improvements
  • Childcare resources
  • Early childhood education initiatives
  • Faith-based learning programs
  • Children’s ministry support
  • Safe learning environments
  • Educational materials and supplies
  • Age-appropriate faith formation activities
  • Nursery and preschool enhancements
  • Children’s safety and wellness initiatives
  • Interactive learning spaces
  • Outdoor play and recreation areas
  • Family and childcare support services
  • Technology and learning tools for children

Leadership & Governance

The Endowment Committee is appointed and overseen by the Board of Servant Leaders (BoSL). Our current committee members are:

  • Supported by Brad Womble (Ministry Administrator)
