Honoring Service: Recognizing Veterans and Military Members

Land Use & Transportation is proud to recognize the employees who have served, or continue to serve, in the United States military. Veterans and service members bring valuable experience, leadership and a commitment to public service that strengthens our organization and the communities we serve.

This year, two employee stories highlighted the many ways military service continues to impact our workforce:

Marine veteran Irene Dominguez (pictured holding the flag on the left) traveled to New York City with the Wounded Warrior Project to participate in events commemorating the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Her experience highlighted the importance of remembrance, connection, and honoring those who have served and sacrificed.

Air Force reservist Sam Zaik (pictured right) nominated Brian Irish (pictured left) for the Air Force Reserve's Boss Lift program, which gives employers and supervisors the opportunity to learn more about the military service of reservists and the role they play in supporting our nation.

While their experiences are different, both stories reflect the values of service, dedication, and community that are at the heart of Veterans Day.

We thank all LUT employees who have served or are currently serving in our nation's military.

Your commitment, sacrifice and continued contributions make a lasting difference in our workplace and our community.

Happy Veterans Day.

Road Closures & Traffic Advisories

🚦New Traffic Signal at River Road & Witch Hazel Road 🚦

A new traffic light is now in place at the Bonita Road and Sequoia Parkway intersection. The signal is expected to improve safety in the area and provide important traffic flow and safety improvements near a Clean Water Services wastewater treatment facility.

The intersection project also included ADA-compliant curb ramps and pavement markings to improve pedestrian access and safety.
