MAKING THE CHURCH MORE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL

-By David Gobel, Chairman of the Renovation
Sub-Committee for Limited Mobility Access

"A newspaper article published when the church was first completed in 1819 proclaimed that 'From grandeur of design and neatness of execution, we presume this church is not surpassed by any in the United States. . . .' We are blessed to be the inheritors of such a fine structure and must be careful to maintain it and preserve its beauty." READ MORE HERE

2026 SUMMER MISSIONS TRIP TO HONDURAS

We are pleased to announce that we are sending a team from our congregation to go on a short term mission trip this summer (2026) to serve in Honduras. For many years our congregation was involved in short term missions trips and it is our desire to once again be involved in this important work. Missionary activity is part of the great heritage that we have in our congregation as well as in our Presbyterian tradition more generally. Our faith as Christians, and particularly Reformed Christians, leads us to care deeply about the glory of Christ in the building of his church around the world. We seek to honor that heritage and be engaged in the great work of the gospel around the world by supporting and praying for Presbyterian missionaries as well as through our yearly Missions conference. Yet, another important way for our congregation to be involved in missionary work is through short term missions trips.

In light of this we will send a group from our congregation to work with Rev. Aaron Halbert in Honduras who is one of the missionaries that we support and have had preach at our church in the past. We will be serving in Honduras from June 27-July 4th. We would invite anyone in the congregation who is interested in the work of missions or who has questions to please reach out to Dennis Boatright, Missions Committee Chairman.

To support our Missions by giving:

Text "IPCSAVGIVING MISSIONS" to 73256 to give using your mobile device.

ONGOING MAINTENANCE

In every home, there are large tasks that require large amounts of skill, knowledge, or materials, and are subsequently hired out to skilled technicians and repairmen. However, there are many smaller tasks that the homeowner can address himself, generally at a significantly reduced price. IPC is no different.

To this end, the Session directed the Maintenance Committee, along with the church staff, to create a running spreadsheet of these smaller projects that individual members of the church can perform. The list can be accessed through the following link (https://ipcs.ga/maintenance).

(This blurb is adapted from the larger article found in a 2025 Messenger as well as online here.)

BIBLE READING PLAN FOR 2026

For 2026, we will offer the Navigator's Book-at-a-Time Bible reading plan. Hard copies will be available on Sundays and in the church office; you can use the provided pdf as well. In the year ahead, ask God each day to speak directly to you from the Scripture portions you read. Be expectant, and let your continual exposure to God’s Word reshape your attitudes and behavior as you gain a better understanding of every part of His written testimony to us.
