SRO Appreciation

Our district makes the safety of our students a top priority. Vital partners in this goal are our two amazing school resource officers: Stephanie Castlebury and Danny Conway.

These Carl Junction Police Officers make our schools their home base, always on hand to help in any crisis situation. In addition, they also have become encouraging friends and enthusiastic allies around campus for many of the current students' entire careers here. (Officer Castlebury is coming up on her 10th year, Conway on his 6th)

On January 10, staff and students of the district gave cards, made posters, and just generally tried to display just how awesome and so very appreciated our S.R.O.'s are.

Thank you Castlebury and Conway! We love you!

Inclement Weather

Winter weather is upon us. When deciding whether to close schools, several factors are taken into consideration, including the amount of snowfall, condition of residential and thoroughfare roads, temperature, and the ability to clear parking lots and sidewalks. We work closely with the weather service and our team members personally travel the roads before making a final decision.

If school is canceled or the arrival/dismissal time is affected, an announcement will be made through our communication system using phone, text, and email; postings on social media and cjr1.org, and our local television stations. To assure that you will receive notification, verify that your parent information is up to date in Parent Portal.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Special Olympics Basketball Needs Volunteers-

On Saturday, February 5, CJ Schools will host the annual Stevie Lain Classic basketball tournament for Missouri Special Olympics Athletes.

Volunteers Needed:

• Refs

• Clock/Book

• Concession Stand

• Medical (first aid go-to)

We especially need individuals willing to ref. We can provide you with a brief training, if necessary. But, if you’re familiar with the game of basketball – you can ref!
