July 2026

Hi all,

Happy Summertime! This one has been especially hot and humid, so do your best to stay cool and well hydrated. July has the official designation as National Ice Cream Month, and I do think having a scoop or cone of your favorite ice cream is one excellent way to keep cool. Also, tomorrow is National French Fry Day (yes, it really is) - so you're allowed to indulge yourself for one day, but please don't make french fries a regular habit. And once again, Joey Chestnut won the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island by eating 66 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. This was his 18th win and he holds the men's record of 76 hot dogs which he consumed in the 2021 contest. Wow, and no I do not endorse this as a healthy choice!

In this heat and humidity, staying hydrated can be as simple as drinking the amount of water that is half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 160 lbs, then you should drink 80 ounces of water or whatever is your favorite fluid. It sounds like a lot, but if you keep a container with you during the day and take occasional sips, then little by little you can get to your daily total.

A reminder that our office will be closed for vacation from Saturday July 25th through Sunday August 2nd. We will return to the office on Monday August 3rd.

I hope you are doing well and living the healthy lifestyle. Enjoy the latest edition of our newsletter!

All my best,

Dr Dave
