Spring 2026: Find What You're Looking For

Hey Beach!

Welcome back for Spring 2026! Before jumping into what’s new this semester, I want to start by saying thank you. Last semester, many of you shared thoughtful, honest feedback about navigating campus during construction—especially around food access, seating, and places to study. We heard you, and over the break we worked with campus partners to address many of the things you raised.

As classes get underway, I wanted to share what campus looks like right now and how we’re continuing to support you during the Future U construction.

Where to Eat This Semester

You’ll find a wide range of dining options across both upper and lower campus. On upper campus, spots like Beach Hut, Caffeine Lab, Higher Taste (now featuring Bliss Coffee), Subway, Crave Robotics, InstaChef, and the Habit Burger & Grill trailer are open and ready to fuel your day. On lower campus, you can visit Coastal Coffee, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Hillside and Parkside Dining Halls, Shake Smart, WallstrEAT, the Nugget Grill Express trailer, food trucks, and more. Visit the Where to Eat & Shop page for all dining options.

More Outdoor Seating Is Here

This semester we’ve added 32 new tables and 64 new chairs throughout campus to give you more places to sit, eat, study, or take a break between classes. You’ll find new seating near McIntosh, the LA1 Courtyard, the Habit Grill trailer area, Beach Circle, the Nugget Grill Express trailer area, and outside the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC). We’ve also added new signage near food locations to help you find the closest indoor seating options when you need them. To see a list of all seating, visit the Study & Seating Spaces page.

Study & Seating Spaces (Including Rainy Days)

There are guaranteed indoor spaces available daily for studying, eating, and gathering, including the SRWC (7 a.m.–4 p.m.), PH1 study halls, PH1 lecture halls, the Bookstore second floor, the Library, Horn Center, and Outpost. On rainy days, we’ll reserve additional indoor spaces across campus so you still have reliable places to land—and we’ll communicate those locations ahead of time so you can plan your day.

How We’ll Keep You in the Loop

When there are updates—especially weather-related ones—we’ll share information through ASI and CSULB social media, campus screens, Canvas, the Events & Orgs platform, and signage in high-traffic areas. You’ll also see updates through the Future U tile in Single Sign-On.

I know change on campus can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re just trying to get to class, grab food, or find a place to sit. Please know that student leaders are actively working with campus partners to make sure you still have access to the spaces and resources you need —now and in the future.

For the latest updates, visit asicsulb.org/futureu or follow @csulbasi. If you ever have feedback or ideas, we want to hear from you.

Here’s to a strong start to the semester—we’re glad you’re here.

Go Beach,
